Thank you to so many caring and generous people in our community who got behind our sports re-gifting project.   Your generosity made it possible for our Rotary Club of Invercargill North to redistribute your unwanted and now not used sporting equipment to the pupils of Invercargill Middle School this week.

We were impressed with the vast array of donated sporting gear we collected before Lockdown and at our Queens Park Family Fun Day that was held in February.   Donated items included golf clubs, cricket, netball, soccer, badminton, squash, softball and hockey equipment.

Good quality running and walking shoes, wet suits and a couple dozen sunhats, helmets and beanies were also donated to our local Red Cross.

Many people told us that they thought it was a great way to re-purpose their much loved
sporting gear and whilst it held memories (many childhood) it was time to send their treasured items to a much loved better home.

We’ll let you know when we plan to hold our next unwanted sports gear redistribution project.    Watch this space !
